Bob Marley born as Robert Nesta Marley, was born on February 6th, 1945 in a small village called Nine Mile, Jamaica.  His mother was black, and his father white. When he was younger he had to suffer through the racial prejudice because of his racial mix. His father died at the age of 64, when Bob was only 10 years old. He lived in Kingston which was the ghetto of Trench Town, Jamaica. This is where his legacy is the strongest. After a problem with his group, The Wailers, he moved to America with his mother, but returned shortly after. Bob Marley was a huge fan of soccer, and played every day. After a small toe injury, and an attempted assastianation, they found cancer. He fought the cancer for eight months, and sadly died on May 11th, 1981 at the age of 36.

Marley was known as a musician, prophet, and freedom fighter. Throughout his lyrics, and his spoken word advocates peace and hope for change. Bob Marley held free concert for peace, where the Prime Minister Michael Manley and his opposite leader Edward Seage held hands over Marley's head. He also won the Medal of Peace in Jamaica being the third highest award of honor. Marley was a calm, and soft spoken man who only wanted world peace, like a quote of his.."Me only have one ambition, y'know. I only have one thing I really like to see happen. I like to see mankind live together, that's all." Even after he died, the legacy Bob Marley left will live on forever.
