Rastafarian, which is his religion, what he bases his beliefs, and overall life on, is the core of Bob Marley. In the religion, they refer to god as "Jah," which Bob has named a couple of his songs after. The Rasta colors are red, gold, and green and each have their own meaning; Red is the representation of blood, gold represents wealth of the homeland, and green represents beauty and vegetation of Ethopia. People of the Rastafarian faith believe that smoking marijuana should be accepted because they say it opens your mind and allows it to freely express yourself. Followers of the Rastafarian religion believe Marley was the main symbol of Rasta values and beliefs.

"When it's right, it makes everything right. People right, herb right, music right, everything's right"                             -Bob Marley
